At Hebden Green School we understand and celebrate the diverse needs of all our children and young people and aim to create a curriculum which allows them to reach their whole potential. Every pupil has a personalised curriculum and individual targets which relate to the outcomes on their Education, Health and Care Plan. Individual targets are therefore the priority for all our children and young people and drive forward their curriculum.
Many pupils demonstrate similar learning preferences and we reflect this by grouping them into ‘Pathways’ at age 7; prior to this, pupils enter the Foundation Stage where the focus is on readiness to learn. At 16, pupils may continue onto our Post 16 department where alongside their individual targets they will focus on work related learning, independence and functional skills.
