The successful candidate will be an integral part of the care team, providing excellent levels of skilled specialist care to our residing residents.
The Marillac Neurological Care Centre was established by the Daughters of Charity in September 1921 initially as a TB sanatorium, eventually moving to a service for younger adults with disabilities in 1963. The Marillac NCC recently gained independence as a charity with its core focus being to provide outstanding care for patients with complex acquired neurological conditions.
You will be allocated to one of our 3 residential units shadowing other HCAs and eventually putting your learned skills into practice as a trainee Health Care Assistant. Our units are run by experienced Senior Staff Nurses who will support your learning process along with an allocated and experienced HCA/’buddy’. You will be taught care skills such as providing personal care, clinical observations, tracheostomy care, gastrostomy feeding and understanding of care plans as well as, many other clinical and non-clinical essential skills.
We aim to provide our successful candidates with opportunities for development into specialist health and nursing care. The Marillac NCC consists of an onsite specialist therapy team, nursing care, activities team as well as student nurses and therapists all of which, a successful candidate can learn from. We hope that the successful candidate gains an insight into the ever-growing healthcare system whilst, embodying our core values of Respect, Trust, Hope, Excellence and Dignity into their day-to-day tasks as a Health Care Assistant.
Working Week can also be late shifts (6.5 hours – 1:15pm to 7:45pm) or long days (12.5 hours – 7:15am to 7:45pm)
